Stop Asian Hate (2021), acrylic on canvas paper, 12" x 9". I made this at a time when Asian hate crimes were increasing in Oakland; this was mystatement. With this piece I worked especially to portray depth of emotion in her features,pain, fear, depression etc.
Self Portrait at Beach (2021), Acrylic on canvas, 9" x 12". At this time, I was fascinated with the usage of light. My reference was a picture I took of myself, where the light directly hit my face; my desire was to master the perfect manifestation of light in my work.
